PIRATE NATION

Enrolling over 28,000 students and employing over 5,000 workers, East Carolina University remains integral to the culture and economy of eastern North Carolina. We seek to meet students where they are and walk alongside them as they encounter life’s big questions. We want our college students to experience the love of Christ through the study of God’s word and relationship with each other and with others in our body. Our hope is that our college students come to grips with the life-changing reality of the gospel and how the cross speaks to every stage of life. We support a number of campus ministries that seek to reach students on campus and connect them the church. If you are interested in learning more about our college ministries, we hope you’ll talk to our leaders to stay informed about upcoming opportunities.

What is RUF?

Reformed University Fellowship is the campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). RUF seeks to engage students as they walk through a transformative time in life through authentic relationships and the study of Scripture. Through the ministry of RUF, students discover the love of Christ, find their significance in God’s redemptive story, and engage in the life of his church.

MEET OUR STAFF

Skylar Adams, RUF Campus Minister

Skylar Adams is from Clayton, NC and went to Appalachian State, where he met his wife, Dori, also a North Carolina native. After graduation in 2010, Skylar worked as a policy advisor for the North Carolina Senate before discerning a call to pastoral ministry. That call led the Adamses to Dallas and then Saint Louis where Skylar earned his Masters of Divinity at Covenant Seminary in 2018. Dori is a stay-at-home mom. Together with their kids, Eleanor, Anna, and Benjamin, they enjoy good tacos, Drew & Ellie Holcomb music, and family walks.
